The challenge
Illesse wanted a digital home for her blog — a warm, welcoming space where introverts could find relatable workplace stories and feel less alone. The brief put authenticity above complexity: it had to feel personal and unmistakably hers, carry the tagline "Be Heard. Be Seen. Be You.", and still load fast and rank well — a personal site built to a professional standard, not a quick template.
What we did
- Led with personality — a personality quiz as the centrepiece, not an afterthought, to pull readers in and set the tone from the first visit.
- Designed a flip-card interface so blog posts feel like something to explore, rather than a wall of text to scroll past.
- Built on Nuxt with a component-driven architecture and a proper type system, so new stories and sections drop in without disturbing the layout.
- Engineered performance in from the first commit — lazy-loaded media, lightweight CSS animation over heavy libraries, and modern image formats tuned for the web.
- Designed for calm and accessibility: careful colour contrast, keyboard-friendly interactions, and motion that respects reduced-motion preferences.
- Split the work to our strengths — Luke owned architecture and optimisation; Illesse shaped the voice, content and creative direction.
